Job Title: Sr. Power BI Developer Job Location: Eden Prairie MN 55344 (1x per week ONSITE, 4x per week REMOTE) Onsite Requirements: Power BI Azure Dax Job Description: The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Engineer with a background of working with Power BI to play a key role in a large multi-year cross functional digital transformation initiative. This individual will be responsible for the development and administration of BI solutions along with a demonstratable knowledge of Power BI.

The main duties of the Senior BI Engineer will be the development of Power BI dashboards as well as tabular models, to assist with the design, implementation, and support of components throughout Power BI Premium service. Essential Responsibilities: The candidate will work closely with members of the Enterprise Data Management team as well as business partners to understand broad business information requirements and develop BI solutions, including:Data visualizations Tabular models within Power BI Service and Desktop Complex DAX expressions for aggregating data visualizations Understand best practices to design, develop, and support Power BI visualizations. Optimize Power BI dashboards and tabular models with a focus on usability and performance.

Use models to the Power BI Premium service Publish reports and dashboards using Power BI Service for sharing and collaboration. Schedule dashboard refreshes and set up proactive notifications. Implementing Row Level Security (RLS) Develop tabular models which support one-to-many Power BI dashboards.

Manage Power BI workspaces. Leverage Microsoft Azure tools to develop and deploy BI solutions (Strong Azure DevOps experience) Strong requirements analysis experience Required Skills/Experience: Experience in developing Power BI dashboards and converting data (raw and transformed) into meaningful insights. Best Practices - Choice of data import vs.

direct connectivity, Reuse of existing datasets, File Size Management, and others. Experience with varied database sources such as SQL Server, SharePoint list, Azure analysis services. Experienced Tabular Developer with 1+ years focused Tabular development.

Experience writing DAX expressions. Experience in Tabular performance monitoring and query optimization using MS and 3rd party tools. DAX studio or Tabular Editor, and ALM Toolkit experience is a plus.

Row-Level Security, Restricting Sharing and Publishing, Restricting Export and Printing Experience integrating Power BI reports into 3rd Party Applications Collaborate with and help to mentor less experienced Power BI Developers Strong SQL and Data models knowledge (Relational, Star schema), ability to connect to database and trace data lineage. Ability to articulate technical issues outside team to get quicker resolution. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Ability to work closely with Product Management and Enterprise Architects to develop solutions including DR and HA setups. Deployed Leading Practices are followed within the Power BI industry. Support - Day to Day administration monitoring and health checks.

Agile Methodology - Scrum and/or Kanban Experienced with Power BI ecosystem for Compliance, Auditing, Data Privacy, Data Classification, Security and Controlling Access to Power BI Deployed Security Integrations with Enterprise LDAP, AD, Azure AD, SAML and other next-gen IdP (Identity Provider) Managing Power BI Premium Capacities (Cloud) and assigning Workspaces that include Workspace and Group Management ITSM experience with Incident, Requests and Change Management. ServiceNow Experienced with Power BI Report Server and On-Prem Data Gateway Installation, Upgrades and Configurations Experienced with Power BI Service (SaaS) Nice to have experienced with Power BI Embedded (PaaS) Experience with Performance and Tuning including Caching Techniques.3rd party and subcontract staffing agencies are not eligible for partnership on this position.
